Recombinant adeno-associated virus (AAV) is a versatile and widely utilized viral vector for both in vitro and in vivo gene delivery. It can infect both dividing and non-dividing cells, often requiring the help of adenoviruses or herpes viruses for replication in living organisms. AAVs have become one of the most effective tools for gene therapy due to their ability to transduce a diverse range of mammalian cell types, as well as their non-pathogenic nature and low immunogenicity in humans.

Technical information


Recombinant AAV (rAAV) acts as a viral vector, combining the AAV2 genome with capsid protein genomes from various serotypes. The rAAV plasmid allows the insertion of coding sequences (CDS) or RNA interference sequences that target specific genes. AAV is mainly administered through in vivo injection due to its low immunogenicity and ability to support long-term gene expression. Our AAV undergoes purification through ultracentrifugation, and the number of genome copies is quantified using quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR). Typically, the AAV titer ranges from 10^12 to 10^13 viral genomes per milliliter (v.g./ml).
